Tom Sims
As a landscape artist, my work is culled from a selection of landscape memories of those places which have inspired me and continue to inspire me; Cornwall, Catalunya, Picardy and East Anglia in particular - but not exclusively.
I am drawn to those places with that special light that occurs where the land meets the sea or water and as a resident of Ely, Cambridgeshire I am suurounded by the Fens and am only an hour or so from the coast – just right really.
I have a passionate love of colour, and have been influenced by the work of Barbara Rae, Patrick Heron, Brian Rutenberg and Arthur Maderson amongst others.
The images I create from these memories strive to reflect my search for peace and stillness in an often chaotic world.
My work is in a number of private collections in the UK.
