Artist Steve Sinnott
Launches 'Big Hug' project.
Artist Steve Sinnott is doing his bit to bring people together in the current uncertain climate.
Big Hug is a great new participation artwork designed with the community at heart.
Helping to distract people from the monotony of isolation encouraging them to focus on their creative side.
Here is a bit more about the project from Steve:
'Right now we are all affected in some way by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) which is challenging us all to be more socially isolated. One of the most basic forms of human comfort and reassurance at times of uncertainty is a simple hug from another person, but we are advised this is something we should now avoid. This is why we need to find other ways of connecting and supporting each other.
The idea behind my BIG HUG Art project is simple and everyone is invited to be a part of it, especially children and older people but everyone is welcome to contribute. All you need to do is draw something and send me a photo of your drawing using the online form at the bottom of this page. The empty BIG HUG letters above will be filled with a collage of all the images you submit (a bit like a patchwork quilt).
Once the BIG HUG collage has been put together, it will be photographed and made freely available online to everyone who takes part.
We will sadly remember this year for the bad things that happened, so let's try to create some good memories too.
Let's spread some love!'
